WESTMINSTER ABBEY

Today we started out taking the tube to Westminster Station where we saw the great views of Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey. Unfortunately, Large parts of Big Ben was covered due to construction and renovation of the tower. We also managed to get up close to the London Eye and walked a bit along the river side. The weather was incredibly cold with the mix of winds and humidity which many of us were not prepared for.

We had the wonderful opportunity to actually attend a morning service in Westminster Abbey. We found ourselves among amazing marble sculpture and an immense hall. High arches supported the beautifully intricate details in ceiling. It really showcased the unbelievable architecture there. The choir sang beautifully and the reverend gave a great sermon. At one point of the sermon, the sun shined through the gorgeous glass windows and shine on a group of us sitting in front of it. Most of us were then blessed after the service.

Once the service was over, we grabbed lunch and heading to the Buckingham Palace where we saw it’s grand size and the changing of the guards. Golden highlights in the architecture showcased the royalty and grandness of the area. After gazing upon the Palace and many photos, we went our separate ways to further explore the amazing and intricate parts of London. Our group went to go see the Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed memorial at Harrod's, a huge high-end shopping plaza. There, we listened to some street performers and questioned why a purse cost £5000.00.

Lastly, we made it to the natural history museum where we examined a large collection of rocks and minerals. Part of our group started planning a heist while the others when to the Human Evolution exhibit. We saw many recreations of our ancestors (No photos for censorship reasons), and a large collection of bones and fossils. We were not able to make it all the way through the museum before it closed but it was an amazing experience anyways.
