Saturday Round 2!!!
Another free Saturday! For many of us, we are spending our day enjoying the sports culture in Wales!
At 12:30 we witnessed Cardiff City F.C. take on Sunderland. We arrived a little early to get out tickets and eat lunch. We were lucky enough to have a Costco right next to the stadium. Us college kids love food that is both tasty and cheap!
The first half of the game ended at 0-0, but Cardiff City was dominating the game. They had plenty of opportunities to score. In the 45th minute of the game, Paterson scored for Cardiff putting them up 1-0. At the 49th minute a player from Sunderland was given a red card, giving Cardiff City a one man advantage. Then in the 56th minute Cardiff began a great counter attack. Ralls of Cardiff City is given a great ball in the center and follows it up with an even greater strike. At this point it was 2-0. Paterson ends up finding the ball in the back of the net again in the 80 minute. At this moment the Sunderland fans began to leave the stadium as all the fans (and us) started to wave and chant our goodbyes. This game was already over, but Pilkington adds to the score in the 93rd minute, and the final would be 4-0.
We were supposed to go to a rugby match as well, but it turns out that it wasn't until the following day. For the rest of the night we all split up, got food, and continued to enjoy the culture and history. Some of us may have even napped after a long week and to prepare for another.
